Moon Grove Apartments

I love it here. My old apartment burned down Christmas Eve and we had to evacuate fast and only had 2 weeks to move. Moon grove was my first call and I was able too move in right away. They helped me out a lot. I’m so happy I chose this place. Quiet nice neighbors beautiful apartment just very comfortable and the prices are reasonable. I appreciate it.

Firstly, do NOT live here. It is way overpriced for mediocre renovations to the apartments. You can find actual luxury apartments for the same price point or cheaper. Pros: - Aimee has been helpful during my entire stay. She’s always been very friendly and understanding - The maintenance men are friendly - No breed restrictions Cons: - When I first viewed my apartment before move-in, everything was dirty and not taken care of. I was told and promised that it would be cleaned before move-in. This did not happen and I had to clean my apartment myself. Everything including all appliances (inside oven, fridge) were dirty. I moved out of my apartment leaving it cleaner than when I moved in. It looked like the previous tenants moved out and no cleaning whatsoever was done. - Bad renovations: Paint blotches and discoloration on every single wall, the paint job on cabinets, drawers, etc. are bad and look like a toddler did it. Inside some drawers you can tell they didn’t clean because they painted over strands of hair and anything else. The hardwood flooring had glue coming out of it daily for the entire year I lived there, even in spots where no one walked on and nothing sat on. Nothing could be done about it apparently. I was told someone previously got moved to a different apartment due to the glue issue, so I'm sure it's a problem in all apartments. - They pick and choose which rules to follow. There is always dog poop everywhere and they send mass threatening emails and nothing else. Also, there was a car in my paid-for garage, and all I was told was they would “try to find out and contact who the vehicle belongs to”, but they strictly say elsewhere violators get towed. They did not tow this car out of my spot that I paid monthly for. I had to wait hours for them to leave. - Buildings have zero insulation. In winter, it gets very cold and even turning the heat to 80+ it will not warm enough. A space heater is needed. For summer same issue… On hot days the AC struggles, even when 67 degrees or below. You can hear your neighbors easily, and if they slam doors your floor and apartment WILL shake. - Sometimes the work performed by maintenance is half-work. They replaced everyone’s thermostats and proceeded to leave a giant hole in my wall where the old thermostat used to be. They didn’t fix it until I put in a separate maintenance request. - Hard water is a major issue, or at least it was in my apartment - The sinks all had so much limescale buildup, they clearly didn’t take care of that either. It was so bad that the first time I used the sinks, I got chunks of sharp rock in my hands that were cutting me. I had no idea what it was at the time - The balcony door was in poor condition, along with the screen door. Smells from outside came in through the door all the time, and bugs were constantly getting in from there. - The balcony itself needed cleaned and repainted. There were black marks/stains everywhere on the banister and floor. - The TRASH. Oh the trash was terrible. There is only 1 trash container, which gets full very quickly and it takes them days for it to be emptied. It is not taken care of enough for the amount of residents. One time they sent an email out to all residents blaming us for the large amounts of trash. - They didn’t check smoke detectors/carbon monoxide detectors before I moved in. All but one contained NO batteries inside. Such a hazard. - Have fun during the winter. All winter long I dealt with an ice rink outside my door due to the poor, leaking gutters that were also in poor condition. Upon several complaints, nothing more was done (besides them throwing salt on the sidewalks) until close to the end of winter when they gave me a bag of salt to deal with myself. - You aren’t notified of when maintenance will come to your place, or given a time frame. Even if you put in a preferred time window, they will not follow that. - Before I had a garage, my car was damaged TWICE due to someone scratching the entire side. Not the fault of the complex, but be aware of that. Please rent anywhere else but here.

My husband and I have lived here for going on 2 years here within the next few months. Ziare has been nothing short of amazing to work with. She is kind, compassionate, and is very easy to talk to. She works with you and will listen to your issues to understand them completely and help you with what you need. Thank you Ziare for being the front face of Moon Grove!

Update (10/13/2023): tenants received an email from management offering $50 off next month’s rent to write a “positive Google review.” Please be extra mindful of the very recent 5-star reviews and read all of the actual tenants’ reviews and photos before you decide to rent here, not just recent reviews or people who only got a tour or talked with a leasing consultant and haven’t lived here (see original review below). ~~ Please read the reviews from current and former residents of Moon Grove Apartments (not The Pearl, which is another complex in Coroapolis managed by the same company) before you consider renting here. There is a management initiative to improve online reviews and ratings, so the office staff will ask anyone they speak with - even those who haven’t lived here yet - to give a 5-star review. Unfortunately, most people giving these 5-star reviews are only getting an apartment tour or talking with management or the office/leasing staff about the application process or from those who have not moved in yet, which will not be reflective of your experience living here - as you’ll see from actual residents’ reviews and photos. I feel bad for the people moving in and them being surprised and disappointed when they have very poor experiences after they’ve signed a lease. Unfortunately, this has been the worst place I have lived and I look forward to moving out. I’ll leave a full and honest review about my experience living here upon my move-out in a few months.

Ziare is an incredible assistant manager and has made my move out process simple. Not only does she go above and beyond, she is so kind and willing to help. Ziare always has the answers and arrives with a ready to work mindset everyday. I truly enjoyed living at this property while Ziare was present. I have given this property a 4 star rating due to rodent issues, overall cleanliness and previous leadership concerns. Many residents do not clean up after themselves or their dogs. Additionally, there is a huge trash problem due to lack of knowledge surrounding how to use the compactor properly.

I have lived here for less than a year, and have been plagued with issues within my apartment. From a huge leak from my ceiling, cockroach infestation, a hornets nest right outside of my door, and now severe sewage flooding of mine and several of my neighbor’s apartments. No matter how many maintenance requests my neighbors and I put in, these problems are never actually handled appropriately and continue to get worse. Now we have sewage water draining into the lawn where many of our children play, it is completely unsanitary and unsafe. Extremely disappointed and frustrated with the way management is handling things.

I have lived at Moon Grove for 2 years now and it is a wonderful property. Aimee the property manager is very kind and understanding when dealing with any issues. Ziare and Tessa always greet you when walking into the office and the maintenance staff are top notch. I appreciate all they have done for me and I would definitely recommend Moon Grove. The pool is amazing as well!!

Great experience with Moon Grove Apartment's / Nexus Real Estate. (The Pearl) I lived at The Pearl, one of the sister properties of Moon Grove for a year. From start to finish Aimee the Property Manager and her team have been terrific. Not once did I need to call maintenance for support in my direct unit- but in the few times I needed support with small things in the common areas, they were all resolved within the day. The apartments themselves are large and spacious for the price, with newly renovated floors, appliances, kitchen & bath. All payments and requests are made easily through the company app, and the leasing team has always been quick to answer my requests. The units do not have central air, but for cooling you will have an in wall AC unit which you can adjust to your liking. The heat is standardized for the whole building, but was typically a comfortable temperature in the winter. You also have 3 large windows (1 per room) in the living room, kitchen, and bedroom, with 1 smaller privacy screened window in the bathroom. All easily opened/closed to add airflow, or let in light. If you work late nights/overnights and sleep during the day, my only suggestion would be to consider a top floor unit if possible. Each floor shares a walkway where the 4 unit doors face, and sound did tend to carry through the walls, doors, floors as the bones of the building are a bit older. This only caused some troubles for me when I was on an overnight schedule, and my neighbors were active during the day (when I would sleep haha). Laundry room was busy, but there are some laundromats in the area. Neighbors in the units were all generally friendly, good deal of individuals, couples, and dogs! Maintenance crew frequently emptied dumpsters, and kept the outsides of the building tidy. Cleaning crew swept & mopped the common areas, and were quick to respond if extra attention was needed. Overall a nice unit to live for the price- and a great team to support you during your stay!
